Lummus Digital participated in the Energy Technology Meet (ETM) 2025, held from October 28 – 30 at the Hyderabad International Convention Center. ETM has evolved significantly over the years-from its origins as the Refinery Technology Meet (RTM), later becoming the Refining and Petrochemicals Technology Meet (RPTM), and now transforming into ETM. This evolution reflects a major shift in focus: from traditional refining technologies to a broader spectrum of sustainable solutions that drive energy transition, decarbonization, and digital transformation across the downstream sector.
Organized by the Centre for High Technology (Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, the three-day event brought together industry leaders and technology experts to explore how AI, data intelligence, and digital innovation are shaping the future of energy and downstream operations.
The insightful session on “Agentic AI Applications for Transforming R&D, Operations, Reliability, and Safety in Downstream” offered a fresh perspective on how Agentic AI is reshaping the industry—accelerating innovation in R&D, driving intelligent decision-making, and enabling self-optimizing operations. AI-powered systems can now interpret complex industrial data, anticipate challenges, and recommend data-driven actions that enhance reliability, efficiency, and safety across the value chain.
A key part of the discussion focused on how integrating GenAI and AI into catalyst synthesis and industrial processes is opening new possibilities for the downstream sector. AI accelerates catalyst development by predicting performance attributes such as activity and selectivity. It also streamlines literature analysis, merges diverse data sources, and uncovers new pathways for innovation in catalyst design, process optimization, and scientific research. These capabilities are enabling improved efficiency, greater sustainability, and enhanced cost-effectiveness across operations.
Overall, the conversations at ETM 2025 reflected the industry’s growing momentum toward adopting AI-driven intelligence to build more proactive, resilient, and future-ready downstream ecosystems.
Beyond the sessions, ETM 2025 provided an engaging platform for collaboration and networking. Visitors interacted with the Lummus Digital team to learn how its AI/ML-powered solutions are driving measurable impact across the downstream ecosystem.
The booth interactions and lively exchanges with industry participants, technology innovators, and decision-makers sparked meaningful conversations around reliability, performance, and sustainability. ETM 2025 concluded on an inspiring note, reinforcing a shared vision to embrace digital intelligence as the driving force for safer, more efficient, and future-ready downstream operations.
